The Markeim Art Center is a vibrant, community resource, respected for
the quality of its programming and for its long history. Each year
thousands of people participate in the many activities at the MAC.
Throughout its 51-year history, the Art Center has been supported by
countless volunteers who give their time and talents to help sustain the
organization. This broad-based community support is what makes the Art
Center a strong and vital organization.
As we look towards the future, serving the public and promoting the
arts, we recognize that the old building poses unique challenges. The
staff, the Board of Directors, community members, politicians, and local
artists have identified three areas of need that, when met, will
solidify MAC's position as the preeminent community art center in Camden
County. These goals are:
- To repair the existing class rooms and exhibition space to better
promote the arts and attract new audiences
- To make the building more accessible, comfortable and safe for all
visitors
- To develop new sources of ongoing revenue to insure institutional
stability
Your support of this Capital Campaign is crucial to its success. It is
hoped that the entire community will champion the plan to make this
historic treasure the best facility for the arts in Camden County.
Please join other members of the Art Center's community and make a
pledge, or a donation, to guarantee this project will succeed. We cannot
do it without your help.
You will be contributing not only to a widely respected arts
organization within your community; but to the preservation of a
beautiful space that has been at the heart of this community for over 50
years. The time is now. The need is real. Your support will make the
difference.
