This Pre-School art class will help encourage your young artist. Bring your child and their interest and enthusiasm and lets make art happen.

WHEEL THROWING FOR CHILDREN
with Donna Los
Students learn the fundamentals of working on the potter’s wheel and in the studio. From wedging, centering, opening up and making of wheel thrown forms, they will become more disciplined and patient. They then progress through the finishing and glazing process to complete projects to take home at the end of the course. Materials fee includes firing. All levels welcome.

ITALIAN LANGUAGE & CULTURE
with Antonina Bellesorte of Pinetina
Introduce your child to two life enhancing experiences: the ability to speak a foreign language and learn the Italian culture. Italian is a good language for children because the vowel sounds are based on phonics. It’s also an excellent language for singing, which will be used to reinforce the basic words and phrases your child learns. Each session will emphasize the basics of sounds with unique Italian traditions such as folkloric dances.

Students are introduced to music fundamentals, orchestral instruments and composers including Vivaldi’s Four Seasons, Tchaikovsky’s Nutcracker, Rossini’s William Tell Overture and more. They also sing, dance and march to pop, rock, jazz and traditional folk music during this course. It’s a perfect introduction to the arts and music education.

ART AND GARDENING
with Carole Kolste
You have to start early to grow a garden! Learn how to grow a garden of herbs, vegetables and flowers. Learn how to take care of a garden and explore how much fun you can have in a garden. Kids will learn how to plant, water, and grow vegetables and develop a green thumb. Learn how to create art projects from dried flowers and herbs. Children will learn how to turn the “Environment into Art, and Go Green!” The Courier post rated Markeim’s Art and Garden Club the best in learning with combining art!
